Tell me about SEO services and Website Marketing and their benefits
The earliest roots of SEO services can be traced back to the 1960’s where Gerald Salton’s team at Harvard and Cornell Universities crafted an informational retrieval system called SMART. This drove a need to be able to search effectively on the newly formed Internet with the arrival in the 1990’s of ‘ARCHIE’ (shortened from ‘Archive’). Archie deployed a query methodology incorporating, an expression matcher, a script ‘gatherer’ and a database for storing the searched user queries.
Since that time many search engine companies (Aliweb, Looksmart, Lycos, Inktomi, Infoseek etc…) have tried to create a profitable, successful and sustainable business model and failed. Google is still and has been, the main player in the search engine arena since its inception in 1998 - however Microsoft are now taking this seriously with the advent of the purchase of Yahoo and their new Bing service.
Big G continues to refine its algorithm, which it uses to determine a websites relevance to the user search, so that it can follow its message of making a rapid search as relevant as possible for the user . Companies soon realised that it made good business sense to be on the first page of Google as it is key to promoting or selling their services or products.
Good SEO = website awareness and good Website Marketing = conversion into sales.
The old Yellow Pages adage of simply ‘being in the book’ doesn’t apply any more. Today’s searcher is more fickle with time and search relevance being key factors for both the user and the search engine alike. The search engines now are becoming the decision makers, website style is an important factor but it’s use, speed and ease of communication, how easy it is to purchase services and products, are central to sales in organisations.
So what do you do when a user gets to your website?
The main purpose in retail for example is to sell the user a service or product , have a think about what you do when you buy something in a shop for example.
The shop will:
a) Put the wares (product / services) on show
b) Provide places where you can get more information on a product or service
c) Makes it clear and easy to buy them (POS / credit cards /cash etc…).
Similarly these same rules apply with a website. Make special deals on your products for limited periods only.
You don’t have to make the Website as much fun as a theme park, the goal is to simply provide users with an environment that they purchase you wares in – Make it Easy!.
SEO services is the key to it, without SEO and page one of Google, you simply don’t exist.
Having SEO services Now engaged as your partner helps your Google page one experience
